Description

The Cree XLamp® XP-G2 LED has the same foot-print (3.45mm square) and remains optically compatible with the original XP-G, but by using silicone carbide SC3 technology Cree has increased lumen output by more than 20% and almost tripled the lumens per dollar over the original XP-G.  The XP-G2 is optimized for high light output directional applications that can range from indoor and outdoor to lamp retrofits and portable lights.

LED Star MCPCB

We offer the XP-G2 in two metal core printed circuit board (MCPCB) versions: a single (1-Up: 1 LED) and triple (3-Up: 3 LEDs) MCPCB. The 1- Up is a single XP-G2 LED reflow soldered to a 20mm hexagonal (LED Star) MCPCB. The board has four large solder pads for easy solder connections. The 3-Up is three (3) XP-G2 LEDs reflow soldered in-series to a 20mm hexagonal MCPCB. The 3-Up board has two solder pads for connections, mounting holes for secondary Carclo optics and a center hole for wires or securing the LED star to a heat sink.

Secondary Optics

Both versions (1-Up & 3-Up) of the XP-G2 are designed to work with secondary optics from Carclo; Carclo is a leader in molded poly-carbonate lens systems. The 1-Up secondary lens system combines a plastic holder and lens that sits on top of the 1-Up MCPCB, while the 3- Up optic is a one-piece system with three legs that sit down into corresponding holes on the 3-Up MCPCB. These secondary optics focus light into narrow, medium, wide and elliptical patterns. For referencing detailed specifications there are tables and downloadable documentation below. Important Note: Unless noted otherwise the specifications list are for a single XP-G2 LED. This means that in most cases the values need to be tripled for applications with the 3-Up version. For Example, the forward voltage listed is 2.8V @ 350mA, but for the 3-Up version the voltage would be 8.4V. Likewise the lumen output would be 417 lm instead of 139 lm.
