Description
This 12V side-emitting RGB LED strip directs color-changing light sideways, parallel to the mounting surface, instead of straight outward like a traditional LED strip. Its low-profile design is ideal for edge lighting, coves, stairs, signage, displays, and other applications where the strip needs to remain hidden while directing light across a surface.
RGB Configuration
| Part Number | Color | LED Density | Power |
|---|---|---|---|
| SE60-IP2012V10M-RGB-x | RGB Color-Changing | 60 LEDs/m | 3W/ft |
Side-Emitting Light
Unlike standard LED strips that project light outward from the face of the PCB, the side-view LEDs emit light from the edge of the strip. This allows the strip to sit flat while directing illumination sideways, making it especially useful for tight spaces, edge lighting, coves, stairs, channel lettering, and indirect accent lighting.
RGB Color Control
An RGB controller is required to independently control the red, green, and blue channels. Compatible controllers allow you to mix colors, adjust brightness, and create dynamic color-changing effects.
Lengths & Cutting
Available in 3 ft, 6 ft, 9 ft, 12 ft, and full 16.4 ft (5m) roll lengths. The strip can be cut after every LED, approximately every 0.625 inches, giving you much finer length adjustment than most traditional LED strips.
Installation & Connections

Strip sections can be connected with compatible RGB strip connectors or by soldering multi-conductor wire between sections. The maximum continuous run is 16.4 ft; longer installations should use additional power feeds or be wired in parallel to minimize voltage drop.
Power & Control
A 12V DC power supply and compatible RGB controller are required. Use the Power by Length table below when sizing the power supply for each continuous strip run.
Power by Length
| Strip Length | Approx. Power |
|---|---|
| 1 ft | 4.8W |
| 2 ft | 9.6W |
| 3 ft | 12W |
| 6 ft | 20.8W |
| 9 ft | 27.2W |
| 12 ft | 33.6W |
| 16.4 ft (5m Full Roll) | 36W |
Important: Power draw is not linear over longer strip runs. Voltage drop along the strip reduces the actual wattage as the run gets longer, so use the measured values above rather than multiplying the short-length watts-per-foot value across the entire run when sizing a power supply.
