03 / Finish

Add channel & diffusion

A channel provides a clean mounting surface, helps dissipate heat, and adds a finished appearance. Select a profile that accepts the 10mm strip and a lens suited to your application.

Choose the dimming method first. A standard non-dimmable power supply can feed a compatible DC PWM dimmer. An AC wall dimmer requires a driver specifically rated for that dimmer type. Check the driver’s compatibility list and the controller’s 24V load capacity.

Power planning

Size your supply for the whole installation.

Multiply total connected strip length by 5W per foot. As a planning starting point, allow 25% extra supply capacity, then check the selected driver’s load limits and installation requirements.

For multiple branches, add the load of every strip section. Plan feed locations and wire size for the run length and current.

Connections & installation

A clean fit. A thoughtful finish.

Measure before cutting. Disconnect power and cut only at the marked copper pads.
Use the right connector. Select 2-pin connectors for 10mm IP20 single-color strip. Check current rating and clearance inside your chosen channel.
Plan the wiring. Use two-conductor DC wire sized for load and distance. Match positive and negative polarity at each connection.
Finish with a channel. Fit the strip to a clean mounting surface; route wires without twisting the PCB or making sharp folds.

Common questions

Plan with confidence.

What does 95+ CRI mean for my project?

CRI describes how accurately a light source renders colors compared with a reference source. A 95+ rating is useful when the appearance of wood, textiles, merchandise, and finishes matters. Color temperature is a separate choice that determines how warm or neutral the white light looks.

Will I see individual LED dots?

The 120 LEDs/m layout brings the light sources close together. The final appearance also depends on channel depth, diffuser, viewing distance, and nearby reflective surfaces. Evaluate your chosen strip-and-channel combination if a continuous-looking line is essential.

Can I change the color temperature after installation?

No. Choose one of the five fixed-white versions when ordering. Dimming changes brightness, not the selected color temperature.

Can I use this strip outdoors or in a wet area?

This IP20 strip is intended for indoor, dry locations. For locations exposed to water or moisture, choose a strip and connection system rated for that environment.

Are power supplies, controls, and channels included?

They are selected separately so you can match them to your layout and control requirements. The strip includes 6-inch wire leads. Choose compatible 24V power, controls, connections, and mounting components for your project.
