SC3 Technology in the XM Package

Cree's XLamp XM-L2 delivers breakthrough lumen output and efficacy in the XM package (5x5mm). This emitter was updated and built on the SC3 technology platform. The silicon-carbide base helps the XM-L2 deliver up to 20% more lumens and lumens-per-watt over the original XM-L. This actually works out to double the lumens per dollar!

High Efficacy all the way to 3 Amps!

The XM-L2 has a unique combination of high efficacy and lumen output which is even prevalent at high drive currents. Running at the maximum 3 Amps, the XM-L2 will deliver 1198 lumens at 116 lumens-per-watt!

XM footprint (5x5mm) compared to typical Cree XP package (3.45x3.45mm)

LED Star MCPCB

The larger footprint makes it so the XM-L2 cannot fit three to a board, therefore it is only offered in a 1-Up version. The 20mm MCPCB is a standard hexagonal shape (LED Star), with four solder pads for easy wiring. The MCPCB is compatible with Carclo optics, electrically isolated and shaped so multiple LED stars can be packed closely together to increase light output per unit area.
