The Cree XLamp XP-G2 Star LED builds on the unprecedented performance of the original XP-G by increasing lumen output up to 20% while providing a single die LED point source for precise optical control. The XP-G2 LED shares the same footprint as the original XP-G, providing a seamless upgrade path and shortening the design cycle. The XP-G2 LED is re-flowed onto the LUXdrive Indus Star board, which provides an easy to use XP-G2 LED that is electrically isolated. The hexagonal shape of the Indus Star makes it easy to connect and power in a closely packed arrangement for tight spacing and increased light output per unit area.
XLamp XP-G2 LEDs are the ideal choice for lighting applications where high light output and maximum efficacy are required, such as LED light bulbs, outdoor lighting, portable lighting, indoor lighting and solar-powered lighting. Built on the SC³ Technology Platform, the XLamp XP-G2 LED delivers up to 20% more lumens per watt and 2.5 times the lumens-per-dollar over the original XP-G, lowering system cost up to 57%. The new XP-G2 is optically compatible with the original XP-G ? providing drop-in-ready performance enhancements to shorten the LED fixture design cycle and improve time to market.

Average Lumen Maintenance Characteristics Cree currently recommends a maximum drive current of 1000 mA for XLamp XP-G white in designs seeking the ENERGY STAR* 35,000 hour lifetime rating (Ã¢?¥ 94.1% luminous flux @ 6000 hours) or 25,000-hour lifetime rating (Ã¢?¥ 91.8% luminous flux @ 6000 hours).
