Description

The Cool-White (6500K) Cree XLamp® XM-L LED offers extremely high efficacy at high drive currents, providing up to 1000 lumens at 3A inside a 5mm package and re-flowed to a 20mm metal core printed circuit board (MCPCB). The 20mm MCPCB is a electrically isolated standard hexagonal shape (LED Star) with four solder pads for easy handling and wiring.  The LED is compatible with Carclo optics, electrically isolated and shaped so multiple LED stars can be packed closely together to increase light output per unit area.

    Important Information

    Average Lumen Maintenance Characteristics Cree currently recommends a maximum drive current of 1500 mA for XLamp XM-L white in designs seeking the ENERGY STAR* 35,000 hour lifetime rating (≥ 94.1% luminous flux @ 6000 hours) or 25,000-hour lifetime rating (≥ 91.8% luminous flux @ 6000 hours).

Please read the XLamp Thermal Management application note for details on how thermal design, ambient temperature, and drive current affect the LED junction temperature.
