Description

The, #CREEXPG2-W158, 6500K Cool-White Cree XLamp® XP-G2 LED is based on top performing silicon carbide LED technology, providing twenty percent more lumens per watt and two and a half times the lumens-per-dollar over the original XLamp XP-G LED. The XP-G2 is still optically compatible for simple performance upgrades and remains inside the popular XP-E packaging. The XP-G2 emitter is re-flowed to a 20mm metal core printed circuit board (MCPCB).  The 20mm MCPCB is a standard hexagonal shape (LED Star), with four solder pads for easy wiring. The MCPCB is compatible with Carclo optics, electrically isolated and shaped so multiple LED stars can be packed closely together to increase light output per unit area.  For optimal LED performance the MCPCB can be secured to a heatsink with either thermal transfer tape, thermal grease or thermal epoxy.

    Average Lumen Maintenance Characteristics Cree currently recommends a maximum drive current of 1000 mA for XLamp XP-G white in designs seeking the ENERGY STAR* 35,000 hour lifetime rating (â?¥ 94.1% luminous flux @ 6000 hours) or 25,000-hour lifetime rating (â?¥ 91.8% luminous flux @ 6000 hours).

Please read the XLamp Thermal Management application note for details on how thermal design, ambient temperature, and drive current affect the LED junction temperature.

    High Brightness Cree LED
    Guys this LED is crazy bright! Cree did well with the XP-G, but even better with this XP-G2, plus they finally added the hot binning within the data sheet. The price isn't as low as cheap chinese junk, but after my first issue with cheap parts, I started buying all my LEDs from here and haven't looked back. I would like to rate this LED with 5 stars!
